Additional information
This data set contains signals obtained from a variety of different aspect angles, spanning 90 degrees for mines and 180 degrees for rocks. Each pattern is a set of 60 numbers in the range 0.0 to 1.0, where each number represents the energy within a particular frequency band, integrated over a certain period of time. The output attribute contains the letter R if the object is a rock and M if it is a mine (metal cylinder).
In this section you can download some files related to the sonar data set:
- The complete data set already formatted in KEEL format can be downloaded from
here.
- A copy of the data set already partitioned by means of a 10-folds cross validation procedure can be downloaded from here.
- A copy of the data set already partitioned by means of a 5-folds cross validation procedure can be downloaded from here.
- The header file associated to this data set can be downloaded from here.
- This is not a native data set from the KEEL project. It has been obtained from the UCI Machine Learning Repository. The original page where the data set can be found is: http://archive.ics.uci.edu/ml/datasets/Connectionist+Bench+%28Sonar%2C+Mines+vs.+Rocks%29.
